I love the design and quality of the items I received, but am having trouble using and enjoying the matcha bowl properly. That is due to the indent into the bowl's base. Matcha powder gets stuck in there all the time and the whisk doesn't fit properly to incorporate the stuck powder into the liquid so I always have that matcha powder stuck at the bottom when I pour my drinks out. It's quite a waste of matcha and makes it less convenient to clean.
This is my first time making matcha at home, so I was really eager to receive the set I ordered from Shizen Cha (the Spring Snow chawan, the Sora Sky Blue whisk stand, bamboo whisk and spoon). I wish I could include a photo here, because the items are beautiful.
Since the Spring Snow chawan didn't come with a matching whisk stand, I wanted to choose one that best pairs with it in terms of color. I'm happy I chose the Sora Sky Blue whisk stand, because it nicely complements the bowl's colors! The colors truly make me happy when I see them, as it reminds me of the earth and sky. I also believe the bowl I received is the same one that is pictured here in the product page - it looks exactly like it does in real life, which I appreciate.
The only thing I didn't realize is how small the whisk was, so it doesn't fully fit the whisk stand. As a matcha newbie, I assumed that all whisks were the same size, so I didn't think much about the description of the whisk - next time I'll get the 100-prong whisk to fit the stand. To avoid stretching the prongs too much, I just rest the whisk lightly on the stand. It still makes a great bowl of matcha though! Really happy with what I got.
